Sara Fenech

Sara joined the Mosta Scout Group at the age of 7 with the cubs section and later moved into the troop
section where she occupied the role of a Patrol leader in the Kestrel Patrol. A day to remember was when
she won the best scout award. Following her intensive days in the troop she achieved the Chief Scout Award
and later elected as a Senior Patrol Leader. During this period she did intense training in scouting skills by
also taking the role of a troop instructor within the same section. In fact she gained her First Aid Certificate
during this period.

In 2009 she was registered with IHQ to start the leadership courses within the troop section. Since 2010
she undertook the responsibility of ASL and she assisted the troop section by giving lectures in the Explorer
group and helping out in various activities held by the section. She achieved the wood badge in 2012 and
as a requirement to fulfil her practical skills was the organisation of the 2011 Christmas camp. One can say
a very tough task when considering the number of troop participants within the Mosta Scout Group. In the
mean time Sara undertook a food Handling course with the Institute of Tourism Studies Malta.

Although Sara spends most of her time working in the Troop section, she also forms a part of the very active
Rover Crew within the same group. She participated in various challenges including the Rover Camp and
challenge for two consecutive years.

In 2008 she gained the first international experience when she participated in the National PL Adventure
activity held in Oxford England. Another massive event she participated in was Roverway 2012 held in
Finland were thousands of Rovers from all over the word get together to complete tough challenges.

One of her main passions is to carry out voluntary work both abroad and in Malta. She has gone on voluntary
four times since the summer of 2009 to various places namely Ireland, Naples and Ethiopia.
Born in 1991 in Mosta, educated at St. Joseph Blata l-Bajda and St Aloysius College Sixth Form, and
currently reading a BSc. in Maths and Physics at the University of Malta.
